Indoor sowing:

  • Start 6-8 weeks before the last frost (early April)
  • Germination temperature: 20-25°C
  • Germination: 5-10 days
  • Depth: 0.5 cm
  • Bright light is needed from germination onwards.

Transplantation:

  • After all risk of frost (early June in Quebec)
  • Spacing: 60-90 cm between plants
  • Rich, well-drained soil, pH 6.0-6.8
