A truly flavorful basil that smells like summer… and is easy to harvest throughout the season.

Why choose Dolce Fresca basil from Semis de la Seigneurie?

✅ Seeds produced in Quebec – Adapted to our climate, without chemical pesticides
✅ Compact plant – Perfect for pots, balconies and small spaces
✅ Highly aromatic – Intense flavor, tender leaves
✅ Continuous production – The more you harvest, the more it produces
✅ Ideal for cooking – Pesto, pizza, sauces, salads, infusions

Culture in Quebec (zone 4b and above)

Start your seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost (mid-April) . Basil hates the cold: transplant after all risk of frost has passed , when nights are mild ( early June ). Full sun, rich, well-drained soil, and regular watering will ensure a bounty of leaves all summer long. In pots, it thrives in the warmth of a sunny balcony!

Producer's advice

💚 Pinch often – Cut the tips to encourage branching and increased production
🌿 In pots = success – 1 plant per 20cm+ pot (or several in a large container)
☀️ Full sun – 6–8 hours minimum for maximum aroma
💧 Water regularly – without overwatering (avoids stress and premature flowering)
✂️ Remove the flowers – Prolongs leaf production

  • pesto (intense taste)

Interview :

  • Water regularly (soil slightly moist)
  • Light fertilization with 2–3 weeks (especially in pots)
  • Pinch/harvest frequently to stimulate branching
  • Remove the flowers as soon as they appear (prolongs the harvest).

Harvest :

  • First harvest: 6–8 weeks after sowing (subject to conditions)
  • Harvesting continues until the first frosts.
