Bishop's Crown pepper is an indeterminate variety producing unique, bishop's crown-shaped fruit. Grown at Semis de la Seigneurie, this pepper, originally from Barbados, offers a mild heat (5,000-30,000 Scoville Heat Units) with a fruity and slightly sweet flavor. The spectacular bright red fruit is perfect for both cooking and ornamental purposes. It is a high-yielding, vigorous plant.

Indoor sowing:

  • Start 8-10 weeks before the last frost (mid-March)
  • Germination temperature: 25-30°C
  • Germination: 10-21 days
  • Depth: 0.5 cm
  • Bright light is needed from germination onwards.

Transplantation:

  • After all risk of frost (early June in Quebec)
  • Spacing: 45-60 cm between plants
  • Rich, well-drained soil, pH 6.0-7.0
  • Exposure: full sun (minimum 6-8 hours)
  • Excellent in a 30cm+ pot with a light support
